Pascal Mannaerts is a Belgian photographer, based in Brussels. A part of his work is presented on his website www.parcheminsdailleurs.com. Blessed with an artistic bent and wanderlust, he discovered photography during his student years. Sharing and recording his travel adventures became a priority. A first visit to India in 2000 revealed a deep admiration for the Subcontinent. This is the first of many return engagements.
Travelling to Asia, Africa, Latin America, North Africa and the Middle East during the last 10 years has given Pascal the opportunity to portray humanity in its strongest forms. In the process of total immersion in the culture of every region or country he discovers, he tries to portray the Human in his photographic works. The Human, his thoughts, his convictions, his mystery, his novelty. The Human in portraits, in spontaneous moments, in slices of everyday life, through series of photographs which tend to open a dialogue, arouse emotions and questions.
Pascal is a photographer with publication credits in National Geographic, Geo Magazine, The Guardian, Lonely planet, Médecins Sans Frontières and other European magazines. Several exhibitions of his pictures were held in Europe, Brazil and India.
