I am a Dutch documentary and portrait photographer based in Uppsala, Sweden and recently graduated from the MA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication. I have a background in law and graduated in 2012 with an MA in Commercial and Corporate Law from Maastricht University, Netherlands.
With photography I like to combine a conceptual and subjective approach when exploring the social relationships between people and their position in our contemporary society. I am in particular interested in seemingly small and overlooked historical and contemporary social issues that have considerable impact on the lives of the individuals confronted with those.
My work has been selected and published by GUP magazine in the book ‘NEW Dutch Photography Talent 2014 ’. During the autumn of 2013 I worked at ‘NOOR ’ collective based in Amsterdam, which further intensified my interest for visual storytelling.
I am currently pursuing a long term project concerning contemporary life on the Swedish countryside where I focus on youth identity in relation to rural exodus.
