We are a husband and wife team, from both California's San Francisco Bay Area and above the Arctic Circle in far northern Norway. We somehow found each other and have made a life together across four continents. It’s been interesting. We’re both earth scientists, but also have a passion for art and visual storytelling. We love exploring, experiencing new places, and making connections with people whenever we travel. The sights, sounds, tastes and smells . . . can be intoxicating. And sometimes not, but the challenges that may accompany a journey are part of what makes it all worthwhile. Whether it’s to a destination that is new to us, or we’re revisiting a well-known and much-loved spot.
Recently we lived several years in New Delhi, India, and used that as a base to explore the subcontinent and venture further afield across Asia. We embraced our time there; it’s a diverse region with a rich history. Travel was good but we never tired of exploring Delhi itself. Many a weekend morning would find us in the city's old quarter – Old Delhi – wandering the labyrinthine streets at dawn with cameras as the city woke up.
Our journey continues. We now live in the US on the third coast – its Gulf Coast – where we’ve settled in an eclectic small-town neighborhood from the late 1800s in the big city of Houston.
We enjoy trying to capture some small measure of our experiences through writing and our camera lenses. Collected here are a few photographs from parts of that journey.
