Petram Chalach is a Lebanese artist .Born in 1988, Ashrafieh Beirut, into a family of creatives; his father a Jeweler, his mother a crochet artist.
His work revolves around the individual, its obedience, conditioning, perception, projection and psychology.
Petram studied Fine Arts at the University of Science and technology A.U.S.T. ,although many of the acquired disciplines were self-thought. He is currently residing in Beirut.
A prolific in the visual arts, Petram is a film photographer, painter, illustrator, sculptor, installation artist, 3d artist, designer and a jeweler. The influence of knowledge in multiple disciplines can be seen throughout his work.
Currently, Petram is working on different series of photography Projects, “window shopping-“Beirut” addressing street photo assemblage art, “A walk around old Beirut” a photo documentary about the pre-war citizens of Beirut, “Tripoli, the people” a city’s portrait through its people .
Painting series; “Fragments” an ongoing psycho-experimental series of Portraits, addressing the artist-subject relationship, and the influence of the psyche on the artist's personal interpretation of the individual. “The Nymphs of Nysa” a painting series depicting the Greek mythological Nymph creatures, that were found according to the myth in the great valley of Nysa. An illustration book “Bird sightings in Thule”;a fictional documentation of birds found on the island of Thule, it’s a book addressing perception, sexuality and obedience. “The bubble project”; a series of interactive installations, fusing in, all visual disciplines to recreate a mutual experience.
