Petri Juntunen (b. 1975, Sweden) is a Finnish photographer, currently residing in Helsinki.
At The Hear of It All is a study of the individual contemplating upon his own mortality, how one looks at his own existence, at the same time seeing the beginning and sensing the inevitable end. How the knowledge of this absurdity of existence transform into social constructs and eschatological fantasies that try to make sense of the ending bearable.
In his works and projects, Juntunen studies the topics of memory, loss and melancholy, often using novel methods of imaging and representation including 3D scanning, laser engraving and projections. He has participated in several group exhibitions in Europe and Finland, the latest being at The Finnish Museum of Photography.
