Philip Metcalf is a black-and-white, infrared, landscape photographer. IR (infrared) permits him to create images that are more selective in emphasis than traditional black and white or color images.
His work has appeared in various shows, including "Fire Season" at the New Mexico Museum of Art in 2015, and "Art of Photography" at the San Diego Art Institute in 2013.
On August 10, 2014, his work was featured on "Lenscratch." His photo was selected for the cover of Black & White Magazine's Portfolio Issue (#104), August, 2014 and he was a Merit Award winner in 2014 and 2015. He was a Nominee in the 2013 Black & White Spider Awards and a double Nominee in 2014. He won a LensCulture Exposure Award in 2013.
Born in New York State, a graduate of Princeton University, he and his wife, photographer Patricia Galagan (www.patriciagalaganphotography.com) live in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
