About Prithvijoy Ganguly

Prithvijoy Ganguly is an engineer by education and a passionate photographer. His vocation takes him to remote places in India and he attempts to reflect on these experiences using the mix media format in film that blur the line between fiction and non-fiction.

Connected with identical sensibilities to recreate and reinvent the aesthetics of indigenous cultural and social ethos, Prithvijoy formed U-Turn Picture along with his collaborator, Yudhajit. These films have been screened at various National & International Film Festivals including Visions du Réel, Oberhausen ISFF, International Documentary Film Festival of Amsterdam (IDFA), Vienna Shorts, Sheffield Docs, Ismailia ISFF, Maryland IFF, IDSFK Kerala and many more.

Their recent docu-fiction project “What We Lost in the Fire” has been selected in the Co-Production Market at National Film Development Corporation, 2020.
