Yo soy yo/ No label
Last October I shot this series in Medellin, Colombia. As a machismo country, it's hard to be and feel 'different' in Colombia. That's why I wanted to focus on being who you are in an environment such as this. I shot the series with a local team in one of the most dangerous and notorious districts of Medellin: Comuna 13. Even though a lot of transformations are happening in the area, there's still a lot of gun violence and drug related problems.
I like to play around between the tin lines of documentary/street photography and fashion photography.
By working with a boy/model with Alopecia, a disease where you don't have any hair, and styling where gender didn't play any role, we wanted to show beauty in being oneself and celebrating the freedom to be exactly that.
