Waiting for Ghamadan
In September 2011, photographer Lynn Alleva Lilley moved with her husband and two children to Amman, Jordan. Over three years she photographed subjects such as Western women who married Jordanians of Palestinian descent, a private zoo, Syrian and Iraqi refugees, bird migration routes, and artists. Themes of displacement, entrapment, adaptation and hope are reflected particularly in the work here made in a zoo in Amman which also contains the beginnings of a fable or parable. Lynn moved back to Silver Spring, Maryland in August 2014 and is currently developing a book project based on photographs made in Jordan.
