I have been working on an ongoing portrait series about the individual beauty of women. I have always been a feminist. As a woman, the resilience and achievements of women in the face of adversity is something that I relate to and applaud. As a photographer, capturing humanity through a diverse and feminist lens feels like a natural responsibility. Since childhood, I have fought for gender equality through my athletic performance. As an artist and an adult, my work does not seek to argue against male patriarchy, but instead focuses on illuminating femininity on a larger spectrum. Independently, each portrait is a pulchritudinous depiction of the personal experience of its subject. Collectively, I hope this work helps redefine the ever-changing stereotype of what it means to be a strong, beautiful woman in society today.
