I've been very passionate about this series of portrait. It caused me big surprise each time to look at the results of each take. I began to study a tecnique to obtain a large depth of field and then started varied one by one the operations values until I arrived to a complete freehand shot . The take is one, a long one, and the subject is asked to pass through a "light blade", from dark to dark scanning themselves as the camera follows their moves. An impression of the presence in that moment, a short movie flattened on one frame and the resulting portrait is uncertain, more a remembering of, than the image of. Each one is a heartbeat.
