A red velvet altar cloth rises up from my first picture, leaving some room for a weak, decentralized candle in the realm of this church…
My intent is to offer some narrative cues I found in St. Antonio Abate Church, a Roman Catholic Mannerist church located in the centre of Milan. The Gregorian chants are sung by the Almo Collegio Borromeo Choir of Pavia, Italy’s oldest merit-based "Collegio" in continuous operation.
My world of awe and warm colours such as red and gold suggests to my Spectator some dramatic probability.
The sacred/secular divide peeps out from behind my pictures. Guiding assumptions or faith are inherent in every worldview, system of thought or religion whereas scientific reason can hardly be a totalizing meaning sytem. So blind faith accompanied mankind through the ages.
"Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." (Hebrews, 11).
Despite my warm colours, I tried to convey a general sense of coldness. My characters are pale, covered with red shadows but still inclined to sacredness.
