Social distancing is the only weapon currently at our disposal to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though Montreal is the epicentre of the crisis in Canada, the drama is occurring behind closed doors in hospitals, long-term care homes and private dwellings. For the ordinary citizen in ordinary places, life has become distanced, regimented and local. In this project, I am photographing public life in my neighbourhood using highly structured photographs, mirroring the regimented lifestyle the population has been forced to adopt.
