Decompression is the action or the effect of decompressing. The action of alleviating that which finds itself under pressure (or compression). It refers to the action to no longer squeeze, tighten, shrink, oppress or reduce to a smaller volume. The piece is a photo performance about the fat body not being recommended for society, the pressure imposed on fat women into hiding their bodies when squeezing the body into a piece of an elastic compressor so that the body fat doesn’t remain so exposed and the process of traversing the reverse path and being freed from this cover and no longer mutilating the body daily, nor camouflage their existence to make it more acceptable to the rest of society. Decompression was a way to give visibility to the body with none. It was a process of understanding identity.
