The history of migration is the history of human being. According to the Bible story Adam was the first man who set out on a journey and died far from his homeland.
I started the project after moving from Guatemala to Spain, when experience of different realities crossed over and through new places. Adam ́s Diary is a photographical introspection, the place where I can ask questions about what is the meaning of the journey as H. Arendt points out in her essay We Refugees “We lost our home, which means the familiarity of daily life. We lost our occupation, which means the confidence that we are of some use in this world. We lost our language, which means the naturalness of reactions, the simplicity of gestures, the unaffected expression of feelings”.
The project was granted by the Fundación Arte y Derecho in Madrid 2010.
