Neon Narratives
Project info

These abstract images are reflections of buildings as they appeared in automobile hoods parked on New York City streets during the recent pandemic. I spent hours combing the streets to find the right car, with the right hood, on the right street, at the right time of day for the light to refract just so, causing distortions of architecture, neighborhoods, and landscapes. Often changing the image's orientation, I then digitally manipulated color to dramatize the ominous impact of the invisible, viral COVID-19 terror. These photographs are a subchapter of my ongoing series, "Awaken."
