Survival Skills in Peru
Project info

Getting to know the man I call father by traveling back to his home town of Lima, Peru. He told me stories of how life was different in his country and lived through memories. As a street photographer I wanted to get in touch with my roots so I booked a flight for the two of us. In walking through his nostalgic world, I documented our moments together and all those who knew this man better than I did. He was the son of a corn farmer and distributor who soon created a business in managing transports of good from grower to buyers. This is the journey of what my grandfather left behind to the neighbors my father left as well in his neighborhood. I learned about the men in my family by the hardworking ones they were surrounded by through the years. These are the hard working people of Peru, each bringing their own skill to survive.
