Locked down home with shadows
All of us perceive 'home' in different ways. It means different things to us. During the corona lockdown I was alone in my small studio apartment for a month. In that period I started observing the shadows and sometimes my own reflections in various parts of the apartment- on windows, walls, floor, bed, doors and mirrors. I started relating to the apartment through sensual observations and feelings- the harsh light on my bed in the mornings, golden light in the afternoons, the soft reddish orange light during sunset, the reflection of the night lamp in the window in the nights, a small patch of paint coming off the walls, the cracks on the floor tiles, layer of dirt on the mirrors. The colours, patterns, textures and the moods they created formed the notion of how I relate to the cosiness and warmth of the apartment that I call home.
