One reason I concern myself with the nude is that I am concerned with universals. Clothing is specific to time, place, culture; the body is not.
I work within the broad tradition of the nude in western art, not so much thematically as formally.
I attend to such things as precise framing; negative spaces; relationships of line, volume and tone.
I strive for Aquinas' "wholeness, harmony, and radiance."
I work with these qualities, whatever is content, reflects the spiritual order of the universe.
