Girls in White Dresses
Project info

2016-  A portrait series in an orphanage in South Africa. The girls each wear white dresses. These girls have traumatic pasts, have never been adopted and are living in the Post Apartheid era with all it’s challenges. But the portraits were made to acclaim their resilience & perseverance, to portray their incredible power & beauty and to present another side of African history and people & the stereotyping narratives.  Each portrait is presented with a little narrative of the girls strengths and dreams, celebrating her character and achievements. There is more than meets the eye. We all have a deeper narrative.
