At the Speakers' Corner
Project info

One of my favourite places to visit in London while I was living there was the Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park, an open-air public speaking area where people can express their views and exercise their freedom of speech. The area has been frequented from notable people such as Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin and George Orwell among many others.

According to George Orwell, at the Speakers’ Corner he listened to “Indian nationalists, temperance reformers, Communists, Trotskyists, the Socialist Party of Great Britain, the Catholic Evidence Society, freethinkers, vegetarians, Mormons, the Salvation Army, the Church Army, and a large variety of plain lunatics”.
