Father Christoforos (36, Sacramento, California USA) is site coordinator at the refugee assembly point Skala Sikaminias in Lesbos, Greece. Sixteen years ago he met a Norwegian girl, married and moved to Lesbos where they have lived extensive periods over the last fourteen years. Eight years ago the Father was ordained in the Orthodox Church. His family’s home base is now in Norway, but after coming to the island again this summer and seeing the great need and scale of the refugee crisis, he returned long-term. With his knowledge of the Greek culture, language and local network Father Christoforos is a key person in the chain of organizing help to the boat refugees.
