The Astonishing Beauty of Decay
As I go about my day, I find imagery in the most unusual and unexpected places.
Seeking the beauty in decay - peeling paint, tarnished metal - is a challenge that I most happily accept and indulge. My hope is that others will also see and appreciate the aesthetic in something which they would ordinarily never notice, or that might invoke feelings of discomfort or even disgust.
Through my lens, I seek the other angle, the microscopic village, and the unseen drama that will play out once the shutter has clicked open and the image has been struck.
The ordinary becomes extraordinary. The ugly and dilapidated transformed to a lush beauty.
I have the distinct privilege of freezing time, capturing a feeling, and telling a story. The strength in my work lies in its celebration of light, contrast, composition, and color.
