I was invited to be one of the five Finnish artists to explore the 20"x24" polaroid camera that was brought to Finland from New York. This was organized by the Finnish Museum of Photography together with the Impossible Works. I was absolutely fascinated by the result we made together with the cub scouts and Jennifer Trausch who traveled together with the camera.
I was never a scout myself. To me scouting was everything you learn from the stories, cartoons and films, where children appear independent, courageous and inventive. This fictive idea is strongly present in the portraits, simultaneously the uniforms represent the values and traditions the movement has stood for over a century.
Thank you all the Scouts, the Finnish Museum of Photography, Impossible Works and Jennifer Trausch
