iCUBA - A place on the path of change
"Are you afraid of change?" Andy (seen in image 4) asked me few moments after I met him and his girlfriend, Diana, in a small bus station in Sancti Spiritus, in the central part of Cuba. Indeed, "Change" is something that is very evident in Cuba of today, now more than ever before.
On one hand, the recent arrival of the Internet and the Wi-Fi have opened a new world of information and possibilities, especially for young people, who are not limited anymore by the geography of their enclosed island.
On the other hand, still under a huge burden of the US Embargo, the majority of the Cuban people are depending on governmental food stamps and rations and waiting between three to four hours in endless queues to receive the rations is a daily routine.
