The Domestic Series
Mom is ninety-four years old and has dementia. I am her full-time caregiver. When she moved in with me three years ago, I wanted to document her feelings about what she tells me. These photographs are part of a much larger continuing series that metaphorically captures her situation, feelings, thoughts about aging and not remembering. Mom loves to feel wanted and useful. This process of inclusion in my art has, in fact, immensely benefited the both of us.
