In memory of Fort Belknap First Nations Tribes, of Gros-Ventre and Assiniboines peoples
On a return trip from Toronto, Ontario to Vancouver, BC the site and colour of the Pink Church called me to stop. It reminded me of black and white photos of churches and haciendas taken in the 1950s in the Southwestern USA and Mexico. I spent time reading the inscriptions trying to learn more about the First Nations people buried there. Other people are also buried there including war veterans. I researched all I could find about the church and locals say that it is haunted. I took the photographs to show the efforts that people took to remember their friends and relatives, to honour the people that are buried here; gone but not forgotten. I also wanted to honour my parents and people I have lost.
