The Silence of Things
As i walked through Bangkok in the early 2000s, and later other places, I found myself attracted to objects left haphazardly on streets, in back yards or on patios, next to shops or trash bins, in alleyways or narrow spaces between houses, wherever. Many were destined to disappear soon. Others were put out for a reason and temporarily forgotten.
In these objects I sensed a human presence. And I felt a spirit in the mute items themselves, a telling silence, a story.
I decided to record those stories.
