Other People's Art
We’re surrounded by other people’s art. Although it’s frequently overlooked, our world is filled with murals, statues, graffiti, and much more. Sometimes they’re created by commissioned artists, but more often they’re made by people who are simply using the streets as their gallery. Like many photographers I'm frequently attracted to everyday subject matter, so over the course of time I’ve come to appreciate my interactions with this phenomena. I’m both fascinated by it's transitory relationships with urban residents everywhere , and thankful to the many artists who have provided me with raw material to create my own art. In some sense I suppose one could say that these pictures are both a homage and a collaboration. So here's my personal take on the ubiquitous art of the streets. I hope I’ve done it some small justice.
