Eid al-Adha in Casablanca
Project info

I just moved to Casablanca. I took this series of pictures just before and during Eid al-Adha. I found that street photography in Morocco is much more difficult than in China because people are much more reluctant to have their picture taken. But during the celebrations of Eid, I just shot in my neighborhood and had a great time with the young guys who were taking care of all the sheep heads, feet and skin. They were very friendly and open. A young neighbor even shared some meat with me.
I know these pictures can look a little bloody but I don't think I only focused on this aspect of Eid. By the way, animals are killed by professional butchers, so what they undergo isn't worse than "normal" halal slaughtering.
For me, it was a great and happy time. I would really like to sincerely thank all the nice people I met on the street.
