Halves, splits and eccentric symetries
This series of photos are part of an on-going exploration of dualities and halves. The rectangular photo-frame and its inherent geometrical disciplines could suggest other possibilities inside and outside of the rectangle. This set of photos splits the pictures in halves. This is achieved by exploring the subject matter and setting up the apparent dialectic within the confines of a single frame.
The current buzz word is 'Binary'. This word is increasingly being used by politicians and journalists.
We appear to be living in a world of ‘Yeses’ and ‘Nos’, with no in-between shades of grey. My submission is a photographic exploration of ideas, marginally linked to the 'Binary' notion. The precise 50/50 splits in photos are deliberate, since any other proportional division would be arbitrary and inconsistent with the idea of either ‘this or that’.
