Transfiguration
Project info

In March 2011, I met S. for the first time in New York. A few months later I came back and stayed at his place, it was summertime and he was experimenting with his alter ego, Samantha. Keeping to his confines of home, I became curious about his transformations. The series began as an attempt to document the entire process, in which he became “the other.” I started to think that maybe there was an illusion of two completely different individuals, but in the end, both sharing the same pursuit of love and happiness.

This developed into a summer story about identity, gender, and the pursuit of love and happiness.
