Unfolding the Waves
6 years after the big earthquake and tsunami which hit East Japan in 2011, I went to visit Ishinomaki, where the disaster happened. Amazed by the giant trees and beautiful quiet seashore, where few people dare to pay a visit now, I took these pictures. The trees and stones remained elegantly still at where they were born and belonged to, as if nothing had ever happened. The frozen echo and waves inside them somehow recalled and revoked my long time despair and fear of the inevitable fate of aging and death of my own body.
