These photos are selections from a photobook I self-published for a class.
As a photographer, I’m particularly interested in finding the beauty, awe, and mystique in the mundane, overlooked, and yes, even the ugly. My photos capture the disregarded details of major cities, primarily New York, and highlights the intrigue and gorgeous qualities of the everyday sights its habitants often take for granted.
My goal for the book, and for these selections, is to not only highlight the unseen but to create and capture moments of tranquility in a city that is known for its bustling chaos. In depicting New York this way, I’m asking you to pause, quietly reflect, and take in the details you were too busy to see before; I want you to stop and look again.
