Self-Portrait
Project info

Using visual and performance-like language, I am creating a series of self-portraits, in an attempt to experiment and discover how representations of myself are portrayed through both system and chance.

The photographs are created by recording myself through performance; an act of drawing myself on air; metaphorically using myself as a brush to generate purely subjective forms of my own interpretation. The movements performed are exposed above a video projection for a certain amount of time (based on their colour palette) and then compressed and inverted into a singular image. The performance is altered over time and my control; into a form of ever-changing, yet controlled irregularity.
