Transgression and humour as a resistance of ignorance. Through photography, I’m giving a visual form to questions, conflicts and paradoxes that are risen by that choice of being conscious. These are directed to the audience, not to have answers but to create a dialogue.
The way I’m mixing analogue methods with digital ones reflects the current Zeitgeist. The world is in transition, as it has always been, and as an artist, I’m sampling that stream of consciousness and create an output from that energy. Using contemporary tools and methods while paying respect to inbuilt and learned cultural relevance it’s essential for my visual language that wants to be sincere and personal. Deconstructing mass distraction.
“Man seeks to escape himself in myth and does so by any means at his disposal. Drugs, alcohol, or lies. Unable to withdraw into himself, he disguises himself. Lies and inaccuracy give him a few moments of comfort.”
- Jean Cocteau
