Submission LOS PERROS by A-MORES
Project info

Los Perros is a portraits serie of a list of individuals held in a single place that is none other than the imaginary city of Los Perros. This dystopical metropolis is inspired by US Southwest cities.
Those currents anti-heroes, in link with my vision of human-beings and their respectives trajectories, are marked by the global composition of each photography. The subject is placed in the middle of his/her environment. The distance of the photographied subject permites to give an impression of neutrality and fatalism, inherent to each character. The distance between characters and the public is supported by the blurring faces of those first ones.
But this distance is false. Indeed, not seeing the face of presented individuals symbolizes the fact that each of those characters is respectively a part of us. Those portraits don’t anymore represent a particular individual but a part of the human kind. Each character of this serie take the role of an emotion or characteristic allegory. These allegories are directly represented by the adjective posted upon each character. The used font is a readapation of the social media Instagram font.
And last but not least, the fact that these photos are directly taken from the Googlemap - Streetview internet tool makes once more this work highly contemporary. This artistic decision shows that it is no longer necessary to physically travel to escape and discover new places, or even to photograph and make art. This choice also refers to my personal feeling of deep solitude in this world of the Internet and the image.

Behind this visible insensibility is hidden a destroyed humanity.
