For me, the very essence of taking a picture is the framing of the selected scene. The camera frame forces us to restrict our selection to touch the vertical and horizontal edges of the frame and thus becoming 'captive' to its discipline. This series of photographs explores the relationship between the parallel symmetrical juxtapositions evident in the scene with that of the frame edges. The serialisation of each set, by placing one photo next to another, creates a new set where the internal structure is reinforced and a new narrative suggested. The intention is to create 'A PHOTOGRAPH' form a collection of photos sharing structure but not content. None of the photos have been tampered with or made of collages.
