Between 1994 and 1996 I was the first one who made a series of portrait photographs of members of the Hungarian gay subculture.
The topic is still considered taboo today, especially if regarded from the position other than that of the social documentary photographer, i.e., feeling sorry for the gay community and keeping a certain distance from the so-called other. In this series I transgressed the boundaries of photography as a genre since certain parts of the pictures were ruined or colored.
