This little miracle came to me on the 4th of July. Flesh of my flesh. While she grew inside my body, I dreamed about her just as she is: all blonde hair, blue eyes, and generous heart. I woke up laughing at the idea of me, a brunette for 30 years, having such a child. She was born a few
days early, and with difficulty? the first time I held her I had the strangest sensation that I was looking into my own face. She changed my life. She changed my photography. Just like any new person, she changed the world.
This is summer’s child, at age 6. Wild and free, warm and full of life as the summer’s day she burst to life. She is part of my story, but she is also a beautiful developing story of her very own.
