The Eyes of a Stranger
Project info

It's at cliché that the eyes are the window to the soul, but over the decades that I've pursued street photography there have been several memorable moments of trust and generosity where strangers have given themselves up to the camera and provided a look from which we can see - or construct - a hundred stories. For me, these image capture the genius of photography to make a face in motion uniquely meaningful by stilling its movement. Thanks to the openness and grace of the people one routinely encounters on the street, a recent week in Havana provided several such opportunities.
