I enjoy photographing flowers in gardens or the wild. I focus on basic aesthetic elements and how that can be used convey the energy and intensity of the living flowers. Sometimes the photos are suggestive of certain themes or concepts. Always they are attempts to simply express the power and beauty of the plants themselves.
Peonies are among my favorite subject for the intensity of their rapid efflorescence into rich, luxurious blossoms and rapid decay.
In my work adjustments are typically made to exposure, clarity, color; yet the structure usually remains untouched and true to life.
