IN JANUARY OF 2016, OVER A PERIOD OF THREE DAYS, PHOTOGRAPHER SUZANNE GÜNTHER PHOTOGAPHED AND INTERVIEWED 83 LOCAL KANSAS CITIANS.
THE PORTRAIT PROJECT MAPS OUT THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THESE MANY AND VARIED ARTISTS, CREATIVES, MUSICIANS, CRAFTSPEOPLE, AND LONGTIME LOCALS. USING CRADLE MOUNTED, RESIN CAST, BLACK AND WHITE PHOTO PORTRAITS, OVER 5,000 FEET OF FIBER OPTIC CABLES, AND AUDIO INTERVIEWS SUZANNE GÜNTHER IS WEAVING THE PEOPLE, THEIR LIVES, AND STORIES OF EXPERIENCES IN KANSAS CITY IN A DRAMATIC VISUAL AND AUDIO INSTALLATION PIECE.

SUZANNE GÜNTHER
Born in Wichita, Kansas, she lived and traveled extensively throughout the United States, but Kansas City and the people she came to know while living here continue to inform and inspire her art. She currently lives and works in Germany.
