Sortelha, one of the most beautiful and historical cities I have visited in Portugal.
On the road and just before reaching the city, I could see a side of the castle hanging over a stone hill.
At the beginning, I thought that the city is uninhabited, because the village does not contain much of the population, but once inside, I would find merchants, small shop with handicrafts, coffees, restaurants and very welcoming people.
Although the history of the city dates back to the 13th century, the city, especially the castle, preserved its cultural form and architecture unchanged to this day.
I loved this place very much, especially when I kept walking between its narrow alleys to discover corners and stone houses with small windows and short doors.
