"Doubled" is a series focusing on photos of identical twins and different locations made over several years. The choice of a double "object", dressed uniformly and set in institutional spaces, engages with the issue of blurring and erasing individual identity by fusing the figures. The restrained color palette corresponds with the inspiration for the series – old photo albums of the early Jewish settlement in Israel. The series pursues, as it were, a nostalgic, vague childhood memory of a past that did not necessarily exist. This longing is infused with critical questions about past and present. The public spaces presented in the series seem to have frozen in time. The feature that connects them is the presence of an alienated, oppressively estranged past. These places exist; however, they are about to disappear.
