After being marked by Genghis Khan, Amir Timur, the Russian Empire and the Bolshevik Revolution, the Uzbek people, with a peerless sense of hospitality, today seem trying hard to catch up with the rest of westernized world, paying attention not to loose their very own roots, bringing the country to a kind of rebirth stage.
In my journey from Tashkent to Nukus, through Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, I collected a series of impressions/sensations which I wanted to brief in this photographic work.
