The last summer of Heisei
This is the last summer of the "Heisei" era in Japan, as the emperor will be passing on his throne as of next year (2019). Tokyo is facing major and rushed change as we are preparing for the Olympics in 2020, as well as increasingly extreme whether conditions induced by climate change. Natural disasters have been prominent, starting off with record-breaking heat everywhere in Japan continued by major floods, earthquakes and typhoons with devastating damages. This has complexly tangled with my personal life and even the general social behavior in Tokyo.
This series is an attempted documentation of the "last summer of Heisei" which ended up to be a physical and spiritual roller coaster ride for pretty much everybody in the country.
