Good Night (2014)
I wake up in a cold sweat and take a look around. I always tell myself that the room is empty and tend to believe that this is true. Lying in the bed for more one minute, I listen to the quiet rustles. Darkness and silence draw me in. One has only to close my eyes for a moment and the same vicious cycle occurs. Pressing black heaviness sits upon the chest and doesn't let me go. Objects underneath my eyelids lose their shapes. The ticking of the clock slows down and sticks in sleepy silence. Angry and quaint shadows of surrounding furniture cover me with their prickly hands. The darkness engulfs and leaves me paralyzed. I drown.
Convulsing, I pull myself out of this nightmare: I jerkingly throw the blanket aside, jolt out of bed and, turned the lights on, open my eyes.
