I've been shooting flowers for a long time. And one day my mentor, Joe Giannetti asked me why flowers. Being the smart ass that I sometimes am I quoted Georgia O'Keefe who when asked the same question replied "because they don't move".
Joe, being the excellent mentor that he is responded "there is more to this story than Georgia Okeefe."
Now, six months later and lots of thinking I can say that my grandmother's patience at her cabin happened every summer as she waited for the purple and white lady slipper to arrive. It was like the queen visited. Flowers everywhere and that sole lady slipper stole the show.
So i say, my grandmother taught me to see that one flower that one beauty in a forest of greens.
