Black and White Work
Project info

The first rolls of film that I ever shot were black and white, exploring Sunderland's industrial landscape as a wet behind the ears cub photographer. It's always been a medium that I have loved as I feel it concentrates the viewer's eye on the subject without the distractions of colour and equally makes the photographer think more about composition and the use of light and shade. Compared with the colour versions I think all five pictures in my submission are much stronger images for being in black and white.
